In this botanical illustration course students will learn the basics of plant anatomy and leaf structures while drawing their observations. Using plants found on site we will combine our new knowledge of plant anatomy with field sketching techniques to capture the beauty of wild subjects with a leave-no-trace approach. Students will create an illustrated sheet of plant anatomy including terminology, learning new graphite drawing techniques, and methods for using watercolor to field sketch. Students will leave with a finished watercolor piece capturing their choice of floral specimen.
