Teacher: Hannah Watson | Date: Sat, 09.21 , 10am-3pm | Location: Offsite
Tuition: $155 | Materials: $30

Set against the beautiful backdrop of Luscher Farm, students will dip into two variations of indigo vats to create beautiful custom patterns on cotton textiles. More info...

Focusing on Arashi (wrapping and binding) and Itajime (clamping and shaped resist), this one-day workshop introduces students to textile patterning with traditional Japanese patterning techniques and resist methods. Learn folding, tying and binding techniques influenced by traditional and non-traditional practices. Students will leave with samples and a large patterned piece of fabric. This class will open up the world of surface design to beginners, while challenging those who have already worked with indigo and shibori to move beyond the experimental phase to intentional pattern-making.
